Part 1 of the Application

Currently there is a two (2) year wait list for a service dog.

Please read about Programs, Applicant Criteria, Application Process and FAQs before submitting Part 1 of the Application.

Please note that Service Dogs of Virginia does not train for the following:

    • Guide work for the blind

    • Hearing dogs for those with hearing impairment(s)

    • Seizure alert/response

    • Balance support while walking

    • Allergy detection

    • Psychiatric Service Dogs

    • Provide supervision, navigation, or safety from environmental hazards, aggression or personal protection

    • Soley for emotional comfort or social support

    • Does not provide owner training.
