Tappan and Rocky

Rich in experience, Dr. Tappan Banerjee had not one but two successful careers—the first as Chairman of the Marine Science Department at S. Maine Technical College, the second with the US Dept of Commerce assisting other countries in international trade. Tappan’s automobile accident brought about his early retirement from the Dept. of Commerce but not his activity helping others. As a SCORE counselor, a golfer and a dedicated advocate for people with disabilities Tap continues to help people achieve their goals. To be with Tap is like encountering a force of nature—he is full of life, brimming with stories and laughter, taking delight in people from all walks of life. Tap’s match to Rocky brings two kindred spirits together. If ever two were alike, it’s these two. Both are gregarious, eager to meet new people, go new places, see and experience it all. People always ask how we can give the dogs up. To see this relationship is to understand, for each of them is more delighted than the other with this new partnership.
