I founded SDV nearly ten years ago with a measure of naivete, energy, ambition, and a desire to make a difference. Every year, there has been growth and evolution as my training skills and understanding of our clients has increased. But this year marks a major and significant turning point, as I turn over the Executive Director’s role to another.

Update on Cousteau
Cousteau was matched with occupational therapist Kellie Doolittle earlier this year, to work at Virginia Neurocare with active duty soldiers with traumatic brain injury. Cousteau helps with emotional issues by being an accessible loving friend, but he also helps Kellie by assisting therapeutically.

The November meeting of Junior Ambassadors included a play date with the puppies and painting with the older dogs. Nine service dogs and 2 of their friends had a great time chasing balls and each other. Honey and Keswick painted with the Jr. Ambassadors, who each left with a couple of dog paintings.
